The image is too small
Upload images at least as wide as the place they fill: 2000 px or more for full-width heroes, 1200 px for product photos. See image sizes. Selvedge then serves each screen the size it needs.
A wide photo loses its subject on phones
Heroes have an Image on small screens setting. Upload a portrait version (for example 1200 x 1600 px) so faces and garments stay in frame.
The subject is cut off
Set the focal point on the image itself: in ContentFiles, open the image and drag the focal point onto the subject. Sections that crop then keep it in view.
Product cards crop the garment
In Theme settings > Product cards, set the Image ratio to match your photos (for example portrait 3:4) and the Image fit to show the whole image instead of filling the card.
