Menus are made in Shopify and shown by the theme. You add the links once; the theme decides how they look on computers and phones.
1. Build the menu in Shopify
Go to Online StoreNavigation and open Main menu.
Select Add menu item, name it ("Skincare") and choose what it links to: a collection, a product, a page or a web address.
To make a dropdown, drag items under another item so they are indented. You can nest up to three levels: Skincare > Serums > Retinal serum.
Save.
2. Choose how the theme shows it
In the theme editor, select the Header section:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Menu | Which menu to show (usually Main menu) |
| Menu type | Dropdown, Mega menu (wide panels with columns) or Drawer (a side panel, even on computers) |
| Show collection images in menus | Collections show their picture and product count, products their picture and price |
| Preview collections on hover | Pointing at a collection link shows its first products (computers only) |
3. Add promos to the mega menu
Add blocks to the Header section:
- Mega menu promos: two promo cards, each with an Image, a Collection, a Heading and a button.
- Mega menu carousel: a carousel of products from a Promo collection (empty shows your best sellers).
In each block, Menu item name must match the top-level menu item exactly, for example Skincare. That is how the theme knows which panel the promo belongs to.
The phone menu
On phones, the menu opens as a full-height drawer. Add Menu promo blocks to the Header to show promo cards under the links, with a Carousel heading; Rotate slides automatically turns them by themselves.
The Mobile bottom navigation bar gives phones four links that are always in reach: home, search, bag and account. Add or remove it in the theme editor.
