How it works
- Before typing: with Show quick links and recent searches on (in the Header section), search opens with your menu links and the shopper's recent searches.
- While typing: results appear after a few letters: products with their picture and price, collections, pages and articles.
- Pressing Enter: opens the search results page, with the same filters as your collections.
Set the results page in the theme editor (page selector > Search): Show filters, Results per page, Columns on desktop and Columns on mobile.
Help search find your products
Shopify search looks at product titles, types, vendors, tags and variant names. To be found:
- Use the words shoppers use in titles: "Retinal night serum", not only "L'Élixir Nuit".
- Add tags for concerns and skin types:
dry skin,fine lines,sensitive. - In Shopify's free Search & Discovery app, add synonyms (moisturizer = moisturiser = cream) and boost your best sellers.
