Every product section reads from your Shopify products and collections, so prices, pictures and stock stay current by themselves. You choose the section; Shopify fills it.
Choose the right section
| Section | Shows | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Product rail | A collection on one shelf that slides as the page scrolls | A short range of 6 to 12 products |
| Featured collection | Products on a turning 3D ring, the one in front described beside it | A signature range |
| Coverflow gallery | A fan of cards, the front one lit | Shades or editions to compare |
| Featured product | One product with its buy button | A launch or a best seller |
| Collection list | Your collections as cards | Helping shoppers choose a category |
| Hover image reveal | Collection names that show a picture under the pointer | An editorial, text-led look |
| Collage | A mix of pictures, films, products and collections | A campaign or a gift guide |
| Shoppable video grid | Films, each with its product | Textures and application |
| Lookbook | A photograph with its products marked | A finished look or a shelf |
| Cinematic 3D environment | A scene that moves with the pointer, with product hotspots | A memorable moment |
| Recently viewed products | What this shopper looked at | Bringing shoppers back |
Fill a product rail
In Products > Collections, make a collection with the products in the order you want (choose Sort: Manually).
In the theme editor, add the Product rail section.
Choose the Collection, then Products to show.
Write an Eyebrow and a Heading. Turn on Link to the collection to end the shelf with a link to the rest.
A shoppable photograph
The Lookbook marks products on one of your photographs. Add a Marker block for each product, choose the product, then set Across and Down (how far across and down the picture the marker sits, in %). On phones, Phones chooses Picture with markers (the whole picture, smaller) or Product shelf (the picture cropped in on the products, which are listed as cards to swipe).
Show products only to the right shoppers
Recently viewed products shows nothing to a first-time visitor, so it is safe near the bottom of every page. It never shows the product the shopper is already on.
A product section is empty.
The collection it uses has no products, or none of them are available on the Online Store sales channel. Open the product in your admin and check Sales channels.
The products are in the wrong order.
Sections follow the collection's sort order. Set the collection to Sort: Manually and drag the products.
Can I show more than four products in a row?
Most grids have Columns on desktop and Columns on mobile. Rails and rings show more as the shopper scrolls or turns them.
